ABOUT TOM CHANDLER

Growing up, Tom Chandler was a baseball player, skier, rower, tennis and badminton player, and sailor. In high school it was pickup football games, driveway basketball games, tennis, baseball, and cross country. Tom has run over 16,700 recreational miles since. At Dartmouth, it was soccer, fraternity squash and volleyball. Coaching his two daughters on 13 softball and soccer teams was a natural offshoot.

Tom attended three Dodgers fantasy baseball camps, the most recent in 2022 at Dodger Stadium, shown in the picture at left. In 1984 Tom founded Dodgertown West, playing weekly games for the last 40 years. Helping his daughter Alissa get recruited to Bucknell for soccer led to the founding of Ivy Recruiting, Inc. in 2004. In retirement Tom enjoys Pickleball. Helping athletes get recruited to elite academic schools has been the culmination of his love of sports and education.

College Coach’s Testimonials about Tom Chandler

Stanford University. "In a treacherous college recruiting landscape, athletes and their parents are often confused and disoriented. Getting accurate, reliable and unbiased information can seem near-impossible. In every interaction with Tom, I came away impressed by not only his breadth of knowledge of colleges and their athletic programs, but more importantly, the care he took with each individual athlete and family.” Bret Simon, Former Head Coach, Men’s Soccer

Dartmouth College.  "I get contacted by hundreds of potential student-athletes every year. Unfortunately, many of these students are not even in the ballpark for what we need either academically or athletically. It is very helpful to get a recommendation from Tom. He is a real professional and has a great sense about what kind of college would be a good fit for a given individual. His recommendations are virtually all worth following up on. Barry Harwick, Retired Head Men’s Cross Country and Track Coach

Johns Hopkins University. "I have recruited several baseball players who have ended up at Johns Hopkins and who worked with Tom Chandler.  Tom was very helpful in the recruiting process as he gave me both an honest evaluation of the players' abilities, but also a candid response as to the level of interest which each player had in our program.  I enjoyed working with Tom and would recommend him to any high school athlete.  Robert Babb, Head Baseball Coach

Swarthmore College. "I have interacted with Tom on several occasions and always come away from our conversation impressed with his knowledge of the college selection process, his honest approach to player ability and his concern for finding the right school for his clients.  I hope to recruit his clients in the future.  Pat Gress, Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach

Williams College. "Limited recruiting budgets make it difficult for us to get to know qualified student-athletes across the country.  Tom is a terrific person who has the best interest of the student in mind when trying to find the right school athletically, academically, and otherwise for them.  I look forward to working with him more in the future. Michelyne Pinard, Former Head Women’s Soccer Coach

Northwestern University. "Tom has always looked out for the best interest of the student-athlete.  He tries to find the right fit and I trust his judgement.  Tim Lenahan, Retired Head Soccer Coach

Haverford College. "Our baseball program utilizes just about every recruiting service throughout the country in some capacity, but we rely more heavily on services with a reputation for integrity and honesty.  Tom Chandler is a straight-shooter, and we know that we can trust his insights into a student-athlete's academic and athletic abilities.  Tom always has the best interests of the individual student-athletes in mind, and we appreciate the fact that he works without any self-serving motives to find a perfect fit for the student-athletes and the college baseball programs. Dave Beccaria, Head Baseball Coach
